The Weightless Experience - No Astronaut Experience Required
Astronauts and cosmonauts prepare for space missions by training in special aircraft designed to simulate the weightlessness of outer space. Pilots perform a series of parabolic flight maneuvers that counter the forces of gravity and allow the astronauts and cosmonauts to learn how to accomplish tasks with no gravity. NASA's KC-135 aircraft was used to film weightless scenes in the Tom Hanks movie Apollo 13. Incredible Adventures also offers Zero Gravity flights alongside cosmonauts on Russia's IL-76 MDK and neutral bouyancy weightlessness experience in the Hydrolab at Star City.
If there's an astronaut onboard our Zero-G USA flight, he'll be there to teach you how to fly, float and flip through the cabin. The only thing serious about our US zero-gravity flights is the safety. Each Zero Gravity Space Mission is designed for incredible fun. The plane's interior has been converted into a zero-gravity playroom, complete with padded flooring and video cameras to record all the smiles and laughter.
Weightless flights are offered in cooperation with ZeroG Corp and take place aboard a specially-modified and FAA certified Boeing 727 christened GForce One. During take-off and landings, you'll be safely strapped into standard airline seats and you'll hear the standard airline flight safety briefings from the flight crew. Trust us. Nothing about the rest of the flight is like anything you've ever experienced before.
Each weightless adventure is a fantasy trip through the galaxy. Your first stop is Mars for a taste of 1/3 gravity. Next, you'll travel to the Moon and experience lunar gravity parabolas. In lunar gravity, you weigh 1/6 what you do on Earth. You can easily control your movements as you make small steps and giant leaps. Finally, we arrive in outer space. Nothing can prepare you for your first encounter with zero-gravity. You'll be bouncing uncontrollably about the cabin like human popcorn, touching fellow passengers in places you'd never dream of touching them on Earth. Soon, you'll master the fine art of moving in zero-gravity and feel like an astronaut as you perform out of this world manoeuvres.
