Size: Approx. 6 and 11 Hectares Respectively
Location: Maldives, Dhaalu Atoll
Olhuvelhi and Embudhufushi are two islands sharing the same lagoon located in the Dhaalu Atoll. Other resort islands located in this atoll are Filitheyo and Angsana Velavaru. The distance from Malé is 180 km (approx. 40 minutes by seaplane). Embudhufushi and Olhuvelhi Islands are 658 meters and 980 meters in length respectively, with Embudhufushi being the larger of the two. The land area of Embudhufushi is about 11 hectares, Olhuvelhi's approximately 6 hectares. There is potential for building up the beaches on both islands. After the beach enhancement Olhuvelhi will be approx. 9 hectares and Embudhufushi 13 hectares.
For the time being transfers would be by seaplane, however, as per Government plans, an airstrip is expected to be built on an adjacent island within the next 2 years, enabling night transfers on larger regional planes.
Originally, allocation was given for 110 rooms, now permission has been granted for 150 rooms. The islands are subleased from MTDC for 23 years.
The asking price is US$25,500,000 for both islands, including all the advances paid, all the items procured for mobilization and rights to all surveys, studies and master plans done so far.
Given below are the details of the current concept configuration for the proposed Olhuvelhi Island & Embudhufushi Island Resort at Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives:

Olhuvelhi Island - 5 Star Resort
